Its natural ventilation
mechanism is controlled by roof-mounted weather sensors. In summer,
these openings provide cooling air circulation to enhance summer
comfort, while in winter they close to create a greenhouse
effect.
The new glass facade not only enhances the original
architecture through transparency, but also serves as a support for a
media facade. The masonry parts of the substructure were
treated against iron corrosion and refurbished. Thermally insulated
from the outside (ITE), the facades are then rendered in shades of
yellow ochre, pink and beige. A discreet 140 m² extension extends
the « masonry base » so as to appear indissociable from the
original structure.
