Pour répondre à la demande de la Ville d’Eaubonne de réaliser une salle d’arts martiaux en construction modulaire, le parti pris en ossature bois a été retenu. Cette solution présente de nombreux atouts : mise en œuvre rapide, chantier propre et bilan carbone favorable. Elle permet également de préserver une belle hauteur sous plafond, offrant au dojo un volume généreux et adapté à sa pratique.Le dessin architectural s’appuie sur la hiérarchie des usages : un grand volume pour la salle principale, des hauteurs plus réduites pour les espaces sanitaires, et une façade plus haute marquant l’entrée et donnant au hall une dimension sculpturale. Une marquise inspirée de l’origami vient couronner l’accès principal.Le bardage en sapin à clin, calepiné en chevrons sur les pignons à la silhouette géométrique, dialogue avec le bardage horizontal des façades rectangulaires, affirmant une écriture à la fois sobre et singulière.
In response to the City of Eaubonne’s brief for a modular martial arts hall, a timber-frame scheme was adopted. This construction method offers several advantages: rapid delivery, a clean building site, and a favourable carbon footprint. It also allows for generous internal heights, creating the expansive volume required for the dojo.
The architectural composition is organized around the hierarchy of uses: a full-height volume for the dojo, lower ceiling heights for the sanitary areas, and a taller façade articulating the entrance from afar while giving the lobby a sculptural presence. A canopy inspired by the Japanese art of folding, origami, marks the main access.
The spruce cladding, laid in a chevron pattern on the gable ends, with their sharply geometric profile, enters into dialogue with the horizontal cladding of the rectilinear façades, producing a restrained yet distinctive architectural language.
